Canadian eBusiness/ eCommerce Survey 2013

A unique look into eCommerce/ eBusiness management in Canada

eCommerce Management in Canada | Survey Report | ePath

This research initiative, conducted in association with the University of Toronto, examines the specific issues facing eCommerce and eBusiness managers in Canada and the strategies that are enabling their success.

The results of the study are captured in two documents:

  • eBusiness in Canada: Pushing beyond “Good Enough” via SlideShare (below)
  • Findings and Recommendations Summary

Tapping the experience of Canadian eBusiness and eCommerce managers

Study participants included eBusiness and eCommerce managers from 69 companies, with over 50% from companies of more than 500 employees, including some of the most prominent names in Canadian eBusiness/eCommerce.

These individuals generously shared their time and insights, with many of them participating in follow-on one–on-one interviews.

Valuable insights for Canadian eBusiness professionals

By tapping into the real-life experiences of Canadian eBusiness managers, the study is able to explore critical elements of the eBusiness manager’s role, including:

  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Skill Development and Career Paths
  • The eBusiness Team
  • eBusiness Drivers and Priorities
  • Challenges and Opportunities

The results of this research are also being used to guide the ongoing development of the eBusiness / eCommerce Management Certificate program offered by the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, so that future generations of eBusiness and eCommerce professionals may also benefit.
